I was getting a connection error when upvoting on lemmy.ml so I tried to sign out and sign in and now I’m getting a connection error when signing in. I’m able to do all of this via the web. Voyager has worked perfectly until now.
Voyager works fine with my other account on sh.itjust.works.
Anyone else having this problem?
Voyager 2.24.4
Beta Track - [511] e6d48fe
iphone15 pro max
iOS 18.3.1
2.25.0 is live in the apple app store but it does seem to work yet. I’m guessing there is something Lemmy.ml has to whitelist now.
It’s working for me!
I had to delete the app and redownload from the app store, It’s working now.
I’m in now as well with the latest update on iOS. Thanks @aeharding@vger.social !
I don’t have the problem (v2.24.3 on Android).
But it seems that it could be an anti-crawler in the .ml instance. See the answer from Dessalines to a similar problem in the MLem app.:
We blocked some crawlers on lemmy.ml today, so a dev would have to let us know what user agent mlem is using.
Looks like the agent declaration has been added to the app presently available in iTunes store, but still unable to connect to lemmy.ml today. @dessalines@lemmy.ml is there a process for @aeharding@vger.social to follow to get the Voyager agent whitelisted?
Same symptoms here:
Voyager 2.24.3
iPhone 15 Pro Max
iOS 18.3.1
Had to use another client to post this.
Also, if you logout, you can’t log back in. Sounds like it’s getting blocked at the server end.
I am having the same issue on my iPad but not my droid phone.
Just had a thought… here’s a prime example of one of the stated advantages of the Fediverse. If you get locked out of one account, you can move to another instance.
Question is: do you get to carry over your profile, subscriptions, followers, comments, saves, up/down votes? Or do you have to start from scratch.
Because if it’s scratch, somebody should change the “Fediverse Promise” so users know what to expect.
I’m guessing I know the answer, but this could be something Voyager could handle. Maybe even for a sustainable fee 🤔
if you can move to a different instance i recommend you do so.
Thanks for the unhelpful comment
