Ironically the spoiler is broken in Thunder, too, because they did it wrong. It has to start on a line all by itself. They instead put it on the same line as “tl;Dr”. But at least Thunder shows it as plain text.
What could possibly be the differentiating factor between when it works and when it doesn’t? This is a text only kind of issue and this is the first time I’ve ever seen it happen.
I’m not a super frequent visitor to spoiler’d content, but I’ve seen it often enough to know it normally works.
I’m not sure. Sync doesn’t actually properly support the spoiler formatting Lemmy uses but it was close enough to partially work (wouldn’t show spoiler context however.

I’m getting “Error removing spoiler”. What’s it say?
Sync user? I had the same issue. I hit reply to see it.
Yep, Sync on Android
Sync is dumb. Switch to Thunder.

The Switch has passed PS2 sales in the US and is ~15 million units shy of overtaking it globally.

Weird I get the same error
Sync doesn’t support the spoiler markup fully yet.
