I saw Lesbian Space Princess opening night last night and loved it! The theatre was empty besides my group and two lesbians behind us though, so I felt the need to promote it a bit in case people haven’t heard of it

It’s fun, self-aware, unabashedly queer, and is produced independently by an Aussie company with a bunch of our biggest queer talent! Highly recommend if you need a lighthearted distraction from the world.

I agree completely. The landscape of streaming services for movies and the current theatre prices are extremely distasteful. I was kindly treated to a movie last month with my friend and it was the first time going to a theatre for me in over 5 years and there’s no way I would have gone and paid regular prices myself. Just astounding to see that it’s risen to almost 25$ plus a convenience fee for getting a ticket in advance. Ridiculous.

I do hope you’ll get your chance to see the film however you are able! It looks very well done. :D

We do not support streaming services as we consider paying their ever increasing fees for things we do not own ludicrous.

We do not enjoy going to the cinema as it is, as you said, expensive but also a worse experience. The movie cannot be paused, we are around people we do not know (often making lots of noise) and we can’t even consume most of the food or drink, plus covid is still a thing as much as people want to act like it isn’t.

If we ever have the money and it’s avaliable we might get bluerays but that’s all we could be persuaded to do.

We hope one day the TV and Film industries stop being greedy and learn to make the files purchasable without DRM.
