Why not test Secureblue instead of Silverblue?
Forgive the not so serious remark: you can run Linux in Excel!
Are you me?
I sent the blog post to a friend hoping he would finally get to try it out, cause we’ve been talking about this for way too long now.
Would also love to hear opinions.
Sorry to hear you had trouble with the installation. Since we have such a vast variety of hardware, you will always find a person having trouble with a specific distro I believe. That’s why having so many to choose from is awesome - but also a bit daunting at the start. Glad it’s working now, hope it stays that way.
I remember you asking about what distro to pick, what a wonderful follow-up post. Thank you so much for sharing this.
Some others on ProtonDB are reporting this. For me switching to an older version (7.0-6) worked fine.
Well, these launchers can be a bit confusing at first, but you will get used to all that. And if you still have questions, that’s what the community is here for.
You can select GE-Proton in Heroic under “Wine Manager”.

That’s not too hard a question for me, I’ve been using the same DE for years: KDE
Great find, thanks for making me aware of this artist.
Boot times - I have an old and weak laptop, but it still works fine for some purposes. Boot times are so much shorter with Linux and I don’t sit around waiting anymore :)
And here’s KDE’s: https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/design
LineageOS has instructions for Windows/Mac/Linux: https://wiki.lineageos.org/adb_fastboot_guide
In Mint most people recommend installing Steam directly from the website as .deb. There are dozens of informative threads on the official forums, which also explain some differences of the installation method, for example: https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?t=427582
Nevermind, I was able to read the comments and the poster said “I WILL be open-sourcing the code ASAP, but I’m still working out exactly what that will look like, and I also have a few personal reasons for delaying.” So there’s not git yet for everybody else who is wondering.
