But instead I made one.
But instead I made one.
Why? Do you know him?
That’s just not… Yeah ok you’re right.
You’re asking for opinions so here’s mine.
It’s kind of a shitty world to bring a child into. I know people have said this for probably centuries, but now it’s more true, I think, due to climate change, politics, technology, etc.
Are you wealthy? If not, kids are expensive and makes you more dependent on not losing your job.
Kids ruin your independence and maybe your relationship. Would you and your husband agree on how the child would be raised. What would happen if you broke up?
Your husband will be 70 when the child turns 18. SEVENTY! ( I can’t see the post while I’m typing. I think you said he’s 51, right? )
People always say they are happy they did it and wouldn’t give up parenthood for anything. But they also say they were happiest BEFORE the children arrived.
That said there are lots of positives too, but this is sort of from my perspective when we had to make the choice. My wife is a devout Christian and I’m an atheist. I let her do her thing and she lets me do mine. We don’t talk about religion really, but a decision would have to be made regarding a child.
Are they meat eaters?
As a meat eater, I consider it an abomination.
I think it’s hilarious that this comment section is full of support for the woman AND laughter over her sex toys. Think about it.
Major corporations caused this, only major corporations can solve it. Laws would have to be passed requiring them to offset the damage from everything they do. Coops would need to be set up wherever possible for one industry to reuse waste from another. Subsidies would need to be ethically set up to encourage industry involved with cleaning the environment. Cooperation between nations to combat global issues would be needed. Actual consequences for industries it nations that violate. Education!! And most importantly convince half the world’s population to give a shit or even believe the problem exists. I’ve probably missed some.
The alternative would be magic.
Yeah, between the two, I think magic is probably more realistic. Let’s go with that.
Can’t believe I had to scroll this far to finally see the first item to disappear in every real apocalypse I’ve been through. Plus it’s man’s greatest invention. Just ahead of the Hubble space telescope.
I don’t live near the border but on a road trip I noticed an immediate difference in the quality of the road surface when I entered Alabama coming from Florida. Florida has pretty good roads. Alabama, uhh, not so much. Mississippi and Louisiana roads were also terrible. Texas was better but the quality was spottier.
Well if doesn’t mean anything because this platform is full of Linux fanboys. I want to love it for all that it is, but unfortunately every time I try it, I have the same kind of experience OP has. I’m sorry if that doesn’t fit in your world view.
Oddly, I’m trying it yet again. My laptop is old and Microsoft is trying to make it obsolete. Since I only use it in a limited fashion, I’m hoping to get away with it. Time will tell.
I got it from every experience I’ve ever had with Linux. That said not an expert, but that’s kind of the point.
This is I believe, very typical. If you just want to get in the car and go from point A to B, your only choice is Microsoft. The car will spy on you, force you to do things like visit the dealership to get the light to go off, break and require you to go to the dealership and of course buy a new one when you don’t want to.
To avoid this, you can buy a Linux car and do anything you want to…as long as you are a mechanic or are willing to become one.
If the island has no fresh water, about six days.
I think we need more info about food, water and shelter.
Holy crap, that was great. I never really even thought about it until OP asked the question. I just accepted it as a fact if life. But bottom line is, like most things, it’s because people suck.
I’ve always had issues with it too. You’re not alone. Thanks to Windows 11,I plan to convert my laptop to Linux and I’m hoping since I only use it lightly for a few simple tasks it will be ok. But my desktop daily driver will have to be Windows. Rock and a hard place.
OMG! That’s exactly the way I feel. Stranger than Fiction is a masterpiece.
I don’t care for Will Ferrell but I don’t hate him as a person and that’s what I thought you meant.
I can’t believe you used this example. Amazing!!!
I’m (m) gluten free and my wife is vegetarian so we often just cook for ourselves. When both of us eat one thing, I cook probably 70% of the time. I’m the better cook.
Although we do have specific roles. I make all of the popcorn she makes all of the smoothies.
Yes it should. Agree to disagree. Also your wrong.
Yes.
