A lot of slightly smarter Americans wouldn’t have taken the risk of such a remark, despite remaining oblivious to the mere existence of Liberia.

Now that’s the real win.
Genuinely curious: how many explosions before the successful test?
2 months in. Linux Mint. I am doing my part!
I got downvoted to hell last time I expressed my views about religion, but it has served me well for 29 years now (having been born in the shadow of the Vatican), so I am willing to share again:
I work, collaborate, spend time and even sometimes have sex with religious people, all while maintaining the idea that each one of them is akin to a dormant terrorist cell, and that given the right conditions their fundamental distancing from reason and in some cases recognition of undeserved authority can turn against me and everyone else.
I live a subtly tense life, but usually I am already in a safe place when shit hits the fan.
I also have a very wide definition of religion and of priest.
Both of the services have the option to delete all forwarded messages. This is simply the best first step in order to be able to review what accounts still work with the old addresses (via inbox rules) and slowly change them. I use addy.io for mail aliasing already, but that is not really related to gaining independence from those companies.
And that’s why I set up forwarding from Gmail and Outlook to my new Tuta account.
In a few months I should be free, happily paying for EU alternative were the default swipe gesture stands for delete instead of archive.
Thanks for that link! I was almost gonna start one myself. Gonna try that one instead, at least for a while.
I left a precedent in another top-level comment (a screenshot). Also, broke the laws is not my standard in these cases.
If there was any proof of that, the laws would be moving to prohibit in certain professions or situations
2049 is not bad because of (only) Leto.
He was actually good in Requiem.
I must say that even Catholics in the USA have strange stuff going on that makes them not the same as what we experience in Europe.
Even the rite allows for drinking from the same cup as well as the wafer and Christian Rock in front of the altar.
At least this was true in the early 2000s in Aurora, Colorado.
It is funny to read from the comments here and elsewhere on Lemmy how Trump and MAGA are managing to lower “left-leaning” expectations in the USA in almost every domain.
It’s all practically “oh this guy is not batshit crazy and/or inbred and/or billionaire so he’s fine”.
I see dark times ahead for you guys.
Allow a humble Roman to explain the very simple rule he was taught by his mother at a very young age:
“If you see a dark dot appearing at the horizon, shoot. It’s either a priest or a fascist”
I have discovered the Gemini protocol yesterday.
Hosting what they call a capsule would be easy and extremely lightweight and I could surf from an index using an app called Lagrange, available on F-Droid.
Can you explain how your system differs?
Italian here, Roman actually.
The Roman salute has not origin in ancient history.
It was formalized by Gabriele D’Annunzio, a sick fascist poet and writer, as a salute for his proto-fascist troops with which he occupied Fiume in modern-day Croatia, having been inspired this painting.
So yea, the roman salute is a fascist salute, invented by a fascist, for a fascist occurrence and to call it roman is a disservice to Rome and history in general.
Expecting Bluesky to do the same in a short while.
Why?
Oh he is on Twitter. Gotcha.
What’s the deal with Sorbo?
Will Smith and Jared Leto for sure (including 2049, which was a disgrace compared to the masterpiece that is the original, despite me loving Arrival, Dune Part I and Sicario).
I also cannot stand anyone meant to appeal only to Americans, like Kevin Hart, Chevy Chase, Queen Latifah and all that stuff. Used to like Tom Hanks in the 1990s, but after that he became part of the latter group for me.
If you are ever going to try again watching a The Rock movie (I don’t mind him at all, although not being calling me to watch a movie), please make it Hercules: that movie genuinely surprised me.
I just came out of watching the new movie.
In the scene in which Clark gets interviewed, seen also in the trailer, it is transparent that Superman is with Francesca Albanese on a very current issue.
That’s what they are mad about.
I guess WB/DC is gonna fall out of grace.
