SDDM (and GDM) can be a pain sometimes, so I welcome this.
I don’t know much about login managers, but I do know that SDDM has been a pain in my ass on more than one occasion and on more than one distro.
On old Plasma versions (Debian) the Lock Screen manager would crash pretty much every week until I upgraded to the latest release.
This is great to hear. Something I love about GNOME was the login / lock experience.
SDDM felt like shit when used with Unity, and with Pantheon, and with Plasma.
Looking forward to its release.
Hopefully there this can be DE agnostic.
I only login from TTY but a new login manager is always welcome
