Why would an entire generation ever become culturally irrelevant? Is this even a thing?

Millennials are the largest generation in the workforce, they were born to the boomers the largest previous generation before everything went to piss and birth rates dropped. Millennials are the next boomers, they won’t be culturally irrelevant for a long time. Sad too, as popular culture has basically broken down to just remakes and reboots of properties from our childhood
Come hang with us Gen X’ers. We have cookies and booze.
Some of us had too much of the booze coping with being completely ineffectual as a voting block. I’m good now, though. Sobered up in time for the real nightmare.
