Could be a fight, a contest of some sort, or a team-up.
I just want to see a movie where everyone Nicholas Cage meets is just Nicholas Cage again from all his different characters in previous works. It would be a frantic movie where his goal is to find someone who isn’t himself. While the plot was very different, Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent had a lot of this energy in it.
Jean-Luc Picard vs Professor X just playing chess. Alternating 2d and 3d of course.
Remake that Pixar(?) short from the 90s with the old man playing chess with himself.
Arnold as Terminator from The Terminator versus Arnold as The Terminator from Terminator II
There is a Arnold vs Arnold, sort of.
In the beginning of T5: Genisys; A T-800 “Pops” arrived much earlier than any other terminators, and fought the T1 movie’s T-800 (movie overall isn’t great tho)

How about Inspector Gordon vs Stansfield?
One is the most heroic cop in the universe, the other is the most psychopathic one. Both played by Garry Oldman.
Edit: Also all the characters of Joaquin Phoenix in battle royale. Was thinking of at least The Caesar, The Joker, and Beau.

And for sh*ts and giggles, have another version where ‘Oldman as Gordon’ is allied with ‘Reno as Léon’, but ‘Oldman as Stansfield’ is allied with ‘Reno as Godefroy’ from Les Visiteurs.
I think what would happen is that Stansfield and Leon would go all in to settle their beef while the other two stand on the sideline being confused.
In the Dark Tower movie, Idris Elba was hopelessly miscast as Roland.
But he would have kicked 12 kinds of ass if they did a faithful adaptation and cast him as Cort.
Okay yes I see it now, that would have been so much better
I dunno if this counts, but I am excited for the Coronation Street/Emmerdale collaboration. Even though I hate both.
