General Assembly votes overwhelmingly against US Cuba embargo

The UN General Assembly on Thursday voted by a large margin against the United States’ economic and trade embargo against Cuba, first imposed in 1960. A total of 187 States voted for the resolution put forward each year against the embargo with only the US and Israel voting against and Ukraine abstaining.

    UN isn’t a world government.

    Someone is gonna have to enforce it.

    Who is willing to send a navy? Anyone? Yea that’s what really matters. UN votes are just performative.

      Would it really take a navy?

      If all these countries started sending joint floatillas to Cuba loaded with supplies, what would the US actually do? Blow them up? Seize them and arrest the crew?

      I kinda doubt it. Maybe if Mexico did it by themselves or something they’d try, but all its allies at the same time? Would the US destroy itself just to enforce this embargo?
