    We once had a whole family of cats - father, mother, and three kittens - and the one male kitten, Charlie, absolutely REVERED his father, Jake. He would often sit or lay next to his Papa, always taking the same position.

    One of my favorite photos was when Jake was getting old, with his fur getting raggedy, and he was looking out a window, with Charlie next to him, in the same position, but with his front leg over his father’s shoulders, comforting him.

    They’re both gone now, but I hope they are together, wherever they are now.

    The “Kubrick Stare" is one of Stanley Kubrick’s most recognizable directorial techniques, a method of shot composition where a character stares at the camera with a forward tilt, to convey to the audience that the character in question is at the peak of their derangement.
