    SWTOR is KOTOR3 for me.

Similar story telling, setting, dialogue, choices, morals and powers.

Only they added multiplayer and a cosmetics shop.

Oddly it’s probably become less KOTOR over time, compared to how it was at launch.

And then the eternal empire happened 😕

Cool sci-fi concept, but didn’t feel very star wars to me.

That was really a bad move, in hindsight.

Painted themselves into so many corners they’ve never gotten back out of.

A plot device added to give the player somewhere to conquer / liberate.

A hidden empire that rivals the empire and republic, ruled by a powerful force user and with access to advanced technology.

Nah The Old Republic is why we never got a 3rd KotOR. Same reason why we don’t have Elder Scrolls 6 or GTA6. Why would they make a new game when they’re still making a shitload of money off mmo games that people are still playing years later?

As soon as I found out The Old Republic had a subscription fee I knew KotOR was doomed.

Nah, it’s been passed off by the Studio to smaller maintenance company, who are doing some nice stuff with it.

New stories keep getting added, though perhaps they’re not of the same quality as the originals!

I love this 😂🤩. The KOTOR games are the foundation of philosophy and lore that I measure all other Star Wars by. Really great stuff.

    I should replay those… it’s been ages.

When we were fist getting info on the production of the sequel movies, I got really excited at the name “The Force Awakens” because I took that as a hint to a possible KOTOR2-like storyline, with The Force Awakens introducing a Kreia like character or entire faction that recognized and learned to despise that the Force had a kind of semi-sentience or will - the Force awakens as almost its own character as it does in KOTOR2. The second movie could continue that narrative with escalations in anti-Force sentiment in the galaxy’s non-force users who grow increasingly fed up with damage caused by the light vs darkside conflict; and the third movie, the grand finale to the trilogy of trilogies, would culminate with the Force itself being fully destroyed and freeing the galaxy from both the Jedi and Sith’s (and other smaller force-using factions’) effective subjugation of the average Joe-blow in the SW universe.

Instead we got A New Hope 2.0, whatever non-memorable bs that the second movie was, and Return of the Jedi 2.0

I really liked Star Wars before I played the KOTOR games. I really loved Star Wars after I played them.

Just KOTOR’s? JUST! Let me tell you something you little shit, I would burn everything Catlin Kennedy has ever built to the ground for… Well just for the opportunity, BUT! , I would also settle for the KOTOR’s over any other star wars to exist.
