Am I crazy or can you not be a lesbian if you’re non-binary
It’s all made up and the points don’t matter.
whose meme is it anyway
You absolutely can be, and there is a rich history of gender diversity in lesbian spaces
That’s great but can you maybe explain in more detail for us dumdums?
Because, as far as I know, lesbian means “woman who loves women” and non-binary means “neither man nor woman”. So how can someone be a woman who loves women if they’re not a woman?
AFAB, nonbinary person who identities as non-binary because they are fluid. I.e. sometimes a woman, sometimes another gender. Dating a woman.
I guess if we’re getting technical, they’re only a lesbian sometimes. But we don’t have a term for truly NB dating a woman. And they don’t self identify as male so they’re not hetero. So lesbian it is.
See? Easy peasy.
But this is why I stopped trying to make logical sense of it. I don’t need to understand that level of detail about a stranger, and I dont care who they’re fuckin unless it’s me.
It’s best to identify as “lesbian” if it’s close to your situation, because there are a lot more brunches that way.
wait, the lesbians get more brunches than us bis? when did this happen
bi erasure, obviously
i just need to know if i need to pick up some gender fluid to get more brunch
In a practical sense, identifying as lesbian makes it clear who they are interested in. Who they are should already be understood.
Honestly, non-binary hetero would be considerably more confusing. I at least know with a non-binary lesbian that they like women.
Non binary asexual would clear everything up for the “Don’t give a fuck” crowd
All the labels are made up, there are no rules, and you might identify with multiple categories. I use the labels bisexual, pansexual, and lesbian interchangeably, because they have different connotations and familiarity to most people. Need to communicate that I’m with a woman? A lesbian relationship. Want to make it clear that I’m attracted to all sorts of gender identities? Bisexual/pansexual, depending on who I’m talking to and what terms their familiar with/how specific I feel like being.
The labels don’t have hard and fast rules. I’m attracted to women, I’m gay, I’m lesbian, I’m non-binary, etc. It doesn’t matter. They all apply to me and can overlap to varying degrees. I know a trans guy that calls himself both a gay man and a lesbian. I know trans women that refer to themselves as twinks. Specificity and semantics aren’t as important as communicating what you intend to whoever you’re talking to.
Gender and sexuality aren’t hardwired rules, but influenced by our culture and environment. This is true for everyone. This isn’t to say that someone’s gender or sexuality isn’t intrinsic to that person, but how they think about those and present them are part of an ongoing performance for themselves and others. If you’re interested in learning more on the subject, I can recommend some excellent books on the subject, or feel free to ask followup questions here or in DMs.
Gender sillies usually just mean not exclusively a man or woman. So non-binary is really just another umbrella term that encompasses gender fluidity, the absence of gender, a mixture of genders, or genders that are separate from male or female. Most gender identities under the enby umbrella are some mix of those or other concepts. I think the term lesbian had a slightly more complex meaning historically but I don’t feel qualified to talk about that so I’ll go with the wlw definition in which case someone non-binary could be part female such as in a male/female mix or just a demigirl could easily be lesbian.

It’s almost like they are all human beings belonging to the same species
NYC, especially Queens and BK area is considered to be one of the most diverse area in the world. They actually picked Queens to study people’s DNA with volunteers.
new yorkers constantly thinking something that is normal and happens everywhere is somehow special to them and only them
Americans referring to “…in the world” always mean “in USA”
Unless you’re part of their culture, Hasidic Jews are tough to get along with
I am kind of not big on communities like that (and Amish, as another example). You shouldn’t be able to just opt out of the social contract like that, and still benefit from the state’s largess. I believe the ultra orthodox in Israel are even exempt from the nation’s mandatory conscription.
Has nothing to do with religion or ideology, it’s more about fairness imo.
What contract are you talking about
I meant which social contract are they breaking
Literally living in our society and taking advantage of our shared infrastructure
Every person alive is doing that, how are they breaking social contract, is that because they don’t socialize with people outside of their community, well that’s their perogative, are you saying they don’t pay taxes, neither does the church and clergy, so what social contract are they breaking?
You seem to be pissed about something you can’t even articulate well, maybe reflect on that
Specifically Israel: https://www.quora.com/Why-do-ultra-Orthodox-or-Haredi-Jewish-people-have-special-rights-in-Israel
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exemption_from_military_service_in_Israel
Though apparently the Israeli Supreme Court ruled against the ultra-Orthodox regarding the military service exemption in 2024 so maybe that’s not a thing anymore.
Hasids in the US don’t allow their women to interact with men. The Amish are exempt from many taxes in the US.
They are so insular that they are essentially small countries within a host country. It’s just not compatible with a free and open society imo.
Edit: One exemption I can think of is Native Reservations, since it’s their fucking land in the first place.
Hipster Disneyland
MFers gentrified being an NB lesbian
Bro that caption is blocking the person’s entire face lol
You know that this happens all over the world, right?
Or more to the point; the world is bigger than the USA. Really, it is, look it up. Get an Atlas. Yes, that is a book.
