James Mangold's "Star Wars" movie is set 25,000 years before "The Phantom Menace" so that it's not beholden to any franchise lore and canon.

    Just going back in time doesn’t change the lore requirements. If anything back in time is harder as you have to show a less advanced society that can become the one that exists.
