Yeah, the 80s version took a lot of liberties, most of which didn’t work out. The ending specifically.

But I still like the visuals and the music and the actors more than the new movies. Yeah, I know the new ones have crazy CG visuals, but the set designs from the 80s version were just more…unique in my opinion. That made the world feel more interesting. And I liked the 80s Baron way more than the new Baron, despite really respecting Stellan Skarsgard. Kenneth McMillan played a really psychotic Baron.

The ending was completely and utterly different than the book, which destroyed the gut punch at the end of the book that was kind of the whole theme of the book.

I don’t even remember the book as a whole. But I remember the ending. Then they Hollywooded it and it was awful.

As physical money is becoming more and more obsolete this is becoming less of a lie. And I certainly don’t carry change on me anymore.

I used to give them whatever small change/bills I had on me, but then I realized that effectively added up to another monthly bill and I’m trying to save up for a home and need to have rainy day money in case my car eats shit. I vote to help them every chance I get and that is enough. If that isn’t enough, then that’s our system’s fault, not my personal fault.

Dumb people buy Apple products, so they’ll probably keep buying them, because they’re dumb.

There’s nothing cool about Apple and never was. They’re just really good at advertising to people who don’t understand technology. You have always been able to get the same grade of technology for way cheaper by purchasing from elsewhere.

I’ve been an IT professional (as a job) for over 2 decades. I have had numerous jobs and worked with a lot of tech people. I have had exactly one fellow employee that liked Apple and that dude was straight out of high school and we hired him on as an intern at first and he knew basically nothing.

Apple is good at advertising and robbing people blind. That’s it.
