  • Based on what I know, 99% of humans live in hive worlds and will never see conflict. The stories, the wars? Galaxy wide - like just looking at a map of the galaxy and how long space travel takes? Not just the warp traitors, but orks and Nids with their “proper” propulsion? The worst most humans will face is Darktide-style incursions of rot under a hive, and even then the upper levels may not even be aware of such.

The far and wide galaxy of Warhammer may certainly not be good, as theres settings like Star Trek where no matter where you go youre rocking a good time - but idk the worst most humans have to deal with is god-aweful mismanagement and ineffective government of the hive, maybe a Mechanicus comes to town and calls people “pre-servitors” for awhile and then fucks off back to Mars. The cities are beautiful when they’re not on fire. Chances of being born to a mundane non-hellscape and living and dying with nothing happening are pretty good tbh

  • That’s the beautiful part. There doesn’t need to be lore and backstory and all that other bullshit if all you want is a shooty game. Just…“demons on mars/ demons on earth now” for those that just want to move from set piece to set piece. For those that like exploring every nook and cranny there’s more.

  • I didn’t see it in the article, but what of the power these dams generated? Did they run lines from a farther city? Did these communities have a say?

I’m all for reducing impact on the environment and these dams were truly messing things up (water full of algae so deprived of oxygen it turns black?). This is one of those uncomfortable trades we’ve made across the world with hydro dams. They alter rivers, and make reservoirs. They destroy salmon routes and cause flooding above them when they’re not fast enough to drain. -But humans demand electricity. It’s become essential for homes and health, and now even transportation infrastructure is becoming reliant on it. It seems like these 4 dams couldn’t be producing much if the local people were able to demand them gone and Berkshire give in.

  • Oh my fucking God yes. Every individual pro (nfl?) football team has a sub Every individual pro fifa (whatever) soccer team has a sub Every individual ice hockey team has a sub Polo. Formula 1. COLLEGE football teams! College football divisions! And whos going to the super bowl. Basketball. A sub for who’s going to make it to the final 5. Volleyball. Whatever big volleyball bullshit is. And then relevant WOMENS versions for all of these (no extra hate, just extra numbers) Baseball! Baseball teams history!

Then there’s leagues! Big10. The other big conference! Every coalition for Soccer. Conferences for Basketball. Divisions for hockey. Like holy shit! There’s more categories for sports than nsfw!

EDIT: I need to add that I did the math in another comment: there are (For a US citizen) 32 NFL teams and 113 College football teams. 32 Fifa Soccer teams. 29 US Mens soccer clubs (plus 3 Canadian). 12 More Women’s Soccer teams -only one league. 10 Formula 1drivers/teams. 8 womens volleyball teams. 30 mens baseball teams (29US 1 Canada). 32 teams in the NHL. and lastly, 30 NBA teams. In total this is 331 “Teams” and is the bare minimum before consulting each city will post about a game, individual players with followings, and broad subs like “MLB” is different from “Orioles” and results in more subs needed to block
