I just think that if the dev doesn’t care if they get paid or not then they should offer people back their money. I would assume few people would ask for their money back, but it just seems like the right thing to do. I’m not sure why I’m getting downvoting for suggesting the dev offer refunds. Is offering consumers a choice bad?

Steam literally gives refunds if you buy something and then it goes on sale.
Interesting that the dev decided to make the game free after a month. They announced that they’d rather have more people play the game even if it doesn’t make money. While that’s nice, some people actually did pay for the game. I hope they get the option of receiving a refund if they’d like.
Yup, in steam support you can say you have a problem with a game and one of the options is “it is now available for cheaper” and they’ll give you the difference if you bought it just before a sale.
I got bachelors of science in biology. Couldn’t find a job because, unlike what my parents told me, a degree doesn’t guarantee you a job. I ended up going back to college to get a professional degree. I didnt like the profession after a few years so I quit. Now I work at a factory where a high school education is considered an asset. Some of my coworkers are high school drop outs. It is the easiest job I’ve worked and the most money I’ve ever made in my life thanks to the union.
While my education didn’t really help me get a job, it does allow me to think critically about the news which seems to be the biggest benefit.
I worked at a small business that hired on a new guy. After a few days he asked us if we’ve noticed the owner and secretary were a little…“close”. I guess nobody told him the owner and secretary were married.

The main reason why corporate personhood exists is to limit the liability of owners. If I run a company and a customer slips and falls, they can sue the company, but they can’t sue me or my shareholders. Without any form of personhood there could be no limited liability. The customer would be suing me and the shareholders directly.
I don’t think it would change much for giant corporations but that would be terrible for small businesses. I have a friend who makes his own stuff and sells it to people. He doesn’t make much, a few thousand a year. He incorporated to prevent losing his house from a customer suing him.
I once worked for an Unlimited Liability Corporation (ULC). It’s a corporation where the owners and shareholders can be sued directly for company actions. They took on that higher risk because the tax breaks that come with a ULC were worth it I guess. So it’s not like giant corporations wouldn’t exist if they weren’t considered people, but it probably would hurt entrepreneurship.
The main issue Americans have with corporate personhood is the “freedom of speech” thing the US Supreme Court ruled on in Citizens United v. FCC. The ruling basically said corporations can’t be prevented from giving their money to political causes because its a violation of the corporation’s freedom of speech. That’s specifically a US ruling. Other countries don’t grant rights and freedoms to corporations.

Asmondgold is a co-founder of the media company One True King. Another co-founder is “TipsOut”, who is also a Muslim. He posted a very long message on Twitter about the hatred he and his family have dealt with simply because of their race and religion and called out Asmondgold for perpetuating that same hatred.
I don’t think he changed his mind because of Twitch. He changed his mind because his Muslim business partner sat him down and educated him.

I used to be a funeral director. The majority of outsiders were unaware of pretty much everything we did. Often on purpose because thinking of death is uncomfortable.
The biggest “secret” is probably that the modern funeral was invented by companies the same way diamond engagement rings were. For thousands of years the only people who had public funerals were rich and famous. It was the death of Abraham Lincoln that sparked the funeral industry to sell “famous people funerals at a reasonable price”. You too could give your loved one a presidential send off! The funeral industry still plays into this hard, and I’ve found many people are simply guilt tripped by society to have a public funeral.
