I use my GPU mostly for gaming and computer science. I will say that ROCm from AMD is seriously giving Cuda a run for its money, and it’s fully open source. AMD cards also tend to be better per dollar.

Same, I’ve been using Debian only for the last 15 or so years. I love the stability, and the old software isn’t hard to work around when newer versions are needed.

I hate the lack of support from Nvidia. I prefer AMD cards though, and they give zero trouble.

I agree with you, but I don’t think that makes it a poor example; those different cables aren’t competing standards, they’re different types of USB-C cables. They should absolutely label the cables though, big oversight on the standard there.

The fact that all those cables work over the same standard is an example of how ubiquitous the standard is. That said they should be labeled better, like how USB3 was color coded blue; each cable could have a color strip to distinguish it.

Light bulb sockets are the same all over. RJ-45 Ethernet, USB-C, Bluetooth, WiFi, TCP, HTTP, HTML, CSS.

Xiaomi Pad 6 is a good price and is compatible with plenty of custom roms. Some people don’t trust them because it’s a Chinese brand, but I figure the odds are about the same that it’s got hardware level spying as a Google or Microsoft tablet. At least it’s easy to root or reformat.
