There was an episode of the next generation where picard was being brainwashed to think the way his captors wanted him to, the demonstration of his resilience was truthfully saying there are four lights when he was being coerced into falsely saying there were five.
Yeah I had no context of that. I thought the only time Pic was captured and tortured was by the Borg. Did the Cap just keep getting into shiz like this all through his career?
