Primaries level up from use, unlocking customization options in different slots. Slot availability varies by gun. It looks like all weapons have skins (great for the fashion game). The slots I’ve found so far include:

sights (different sights to taste, or trade off zoom <> ergonomics)

muzzle (recoil patterns mostly)

grip (recoil <> ergonomics/laser/flashlight)

magazine (capacity <> ergonomics/reload speed)

Looks fun! I kinda wish we could slot a bayonet but I can see why they would keep that exclusive

Flicked through some stuff in my steam deck and it’s looking over all pretty good

I’ve always like the liberator pen, but never really used it, maybe I’ll slap a barrel drum on it

The sickle and double edge are missing heat sink upgrades while the scythe has the equivalent for quickly dispersing heat and over all heat cap. Maybe this is intentional

Some weapon equivalents like the punisher has muzzle attachments while the cookout and slugger only have sights

Edit: wait ok I get slugger not having choke but cookout. I’m hoping my beloved cookout will be loved. Overall like the weapon customizations

I am excited about slapping a drum mag on the stun smg as I liked the one handed with energy shield (is it effective: not really with an smg, is it funni, most definitely)

    Overall very happy about this

Love the penetrator. I tend to use armour sets with recoil reduction (explosion resist or engineering) so I’m looking forward to playing with trading recoil for ergonomics.

In general AH seems to approach balance by starting with something lackluster then buff based off of feedback, so I wouldn’t be surprised if this is a conservative initial set of options.

Oh yeah I’m totally expecting this to be a test the waters in terms of the new attachments

A lot of the guns imo skimming it seemed to be mostly sights, some sights + grip, and a few sights, grip, ammo

Somethings make sense like the crossbow only getting sights

My wishlist of things that probably won’t happen are more specialized attachments, like make explosive weapons can trade damage for blast radius or fire weapons (incin shotguns and flame throwers) can have their damage linger for longer and do less damage or something idk

Would be nice if they let most things have grip too. I’d like to be able to add back the laser sight on the weapons that are missing it. It’s such a great coop qol feature

Changing course but have you had a chance with ergonomic values and others

Like for old illuminate loadout I used crossbow,

Bots double edge or charge up plasma, and bugs my beloved cookout. So not exactly precision guns mostly explosion or spray and pray

Edit never finished my thought but is a difference in 2 ergonomics noticeable

Just looking at the difference between angled grip and angled laser grip since I feel those guns don’t benifit much from recoil reduction

I haven’t had a chance to play with it yet, and with the unlock system it might take a while to really get to see what it’s capable of.

That being said, this also have us more visibility on the weapon stats so we might be able to get a sense of scale by looking at the values of familiar weapons. For ergonomics, the dominator has 25, the penetrator has 43, regular liberator has 57, and the defender has 85.

One attachment picked for ergonomics gives you about 10, so almost the difference between liberator types. A penetrator with every attachment optimized for ergonomics is +36, which being more than the difference between it and the dominator and almost enough to handle like an smg (at least until you start firing lol) is pretty significant.
