Even though a malicious payload can be embedded in media files given the right vulnerability to make use of it, I’m referring to malvertising, which is still a problem on piracy sites. This happened not too long ago on The Pirate Bay’s many clones, and TPB itself notoriously served its users ransomware in 2016.
