Throughout my Minecraft experience, I’ve primarily focused on PvP, Redstone , Mods, and command blocks contraptions, i never truly identified myself as a builder. While I have created maps before, these relied heavily on procedural generation with minimal personal input on my part; I generally preferred customizing biomes and similar features that required little direct construction. Especially back the day when these type of stuff were secret on bedrock finding how to do it without mods was awesome I used to love sharing those tutorials. My limited engagement with building stemmed largely from insufficient opportunity and inadequate tools, especially on Bedrock Edition where functionality is often restricted. and having a potato of a PC and phone it significantly hindered my ability to express myself creatively through building. Consequently, I’m now seeking information on recent building tools, software, and development trends to re-engage with this aspect of the game. My goal is to finally develop my skills as a builder so that I’d be able to turn what I envision into reality in Java Edition ‘thumbnail relevant’

I recommend the mod Axiom. It’s like a much more powerful MCEdit with everything built into the game and lots of QOL features that are really useful in building and mapmaking. Check out it’s 3D color space, a very useful feature. For creating custom worlds, Worldpainter can be used. It’s pretty self-explanatory, it lets you paint terrain generation and stuff like trees and biomes via an external editor.

    Other tools:

    • Voxel Sniper - A popular plugin for painting and sculpting. I haven’t used it much.
    • World Edit - The defacto mod for building and editing a world. Many features of Worldedit are also in Axiom, but I tend to use them in conjunction.
