When I was a kid, Staples ran a back to school ad where parents were rejoicing to someone singing “It’s the most wonderful time of the year!” This is my fourth back to school as a parent and I still cannot relate whatsoever. I miss my little buddies. :(
Elementary school, dropping off was sad. We love them. It’s natural.
Middle and high school, my wife dances in the driveway the first day they’re off to school.
Boomers hate their families, so that tracks.
Same, I get random times off and wanna hang with my kid, but I can’t because he’s in school. 😔
I just dropped my daughter off at university for the start of third year. She is planning to stay in the university town to get a job next summer. I may have just moved her out of home for the last time.
