I am looking for a new phone and I would like to get one that I can comfortably fit in one hand. I currently have the pixel 4a 5G, which has a 6.2" display. I’m not looking at folding phones since they are much larger when open.
Smartphones I’ve looked at:
- Sony Xperia lineup: out of stock everywhere
- Asus Zenfone 10: great size, but very expensive and out of stock in a lot of places
- Pixel 9a: big-ish
- pixel 8a: seems fine, supports grapheneos which is nice
Can anyone suggest any other options or an opinion on what I should go with?
I just got the pixel 8a, because I wanted a small phone and it was the only one I could find that was available at a reasonable price. Happy with it so far! Not installed Graphene but the possibility definitely influenced my desire for a pixel. If Google ruins android, nice to know there’s an alternative. Other big plus is wireless charging, it’s my first handset to feature it and my last three phones have each needed replaced in under two years due to problems with the usb C port.

I have the Pixel 9 Pro, fits great in my hand.
My little finger is the same size as my wife’s index finger. Not all phones for in one hand.
Ah damn, I misread the title. Under 6.2". Mine is 6.4", so that’s a no-go then. 🚫
I’ve used nothing but Pixels since the first one launched. Don’t see me changing anytime soon.

Get an old iPhone 13 mini
One of the best small phones still available.
No suggestions but an opinion on the Sony Xperia line. If size is the most important factor keep in mind that the “long” aspect ratio makes it awkward to hold for its size and may have more trouble fitting into pockets than other small phones. If you don’t mind the lack of sd/headphone jack a Pixel is probably better.
Oof, sadly these are maybe the only decent phones keeping an SD card and headphone jack. Not sure what else to get for my next phone.
