15 days agoThat’s what I meant by “WiiU style failure”. If the Switch 2 doesn’t really seem like a worthwhile upgrade, people may keep on buying Switches. My Switch just broke, so I’m hoping it’s not a dud.

With how close the announcement seems to be, unless the Switch 2 is a WiiU style failure, the Switch may well never overtake the PS2 globally.
The Switch has passed PS2 sales in the US and is ~15 million units shy of overtaking it globally.
No matter how you pander, the Chinese market doesn’t want your pizzas either, domino’s.
